Fall Inspiration | How To Pretty Up the Porch

According to the calendar, it’s late October, but Florida has yet to join the rest of the country with seasonal temps. To get into the autumnal spirit, we turn daily to our Instagram feed to soak up images of plump pumpkins, colorful mums, and people sipping hot cider by a crackling fire.

Today we’re sharing some of our favorite fall inspiration photos from friends across the country who are embracing all that autumn has to offer. Along with seasonal colors and decor, don’t be surprised if you see some pretty spectacular barn lights too!

Out in sunny California, Laura’s front entryway dazzles with a black-and-white color scheme and added texture from the stacked stone wall. Piles of pumpkins and colorful flowers greet her guests at the door illuminated by the Original™ Wall Sconce in Black. If you love that tile, be sure to check out Laura’s feed — @helmick_hacienda — she has lively patterns throughout her home!

Up the coast in Oregon, Janna of @yellowprairieinteriors is enjoying her first fall on the farm. We featured Janna’s renovation of her 120-year-old farmhouse back in July in this post. Her front porch is loaded with orange, white, and green pumpkins plus cornstalks and hay bales that play up the farmhouse style.

And we’re still madly in love with Janna’s back porch which is highlighted by a green Dutch door and one of our Marathon Gooseneck Lights. Janna customized this shallow bowl fixture with a 12″ shade, porcelain Black finish, and G26 gooseneck arm.

Liz Marie also tackled the massive renovation of a vintage farmhouse, this one in Michigan. The wide front porch is indicative of mid-1800s style, and serves as the perfect palette for dressing up the home each season. Stairs loaded with seasonal décor plus a comfy couch beckon visitors to sit a spell under the glow of Wilcox Vented Gooseneck Lights.

It looks like Courtney had some help decorating her front porch in Minnesota this fall. The warmth of the Craftsman-style front door creates a beautiful focal point framed by white board-and-batten walls. Black Original™ Warehouse Gooseneck Lights with 12″ shades and G26 arms complete the farmhouse vibe.

It may not be as cool down south as it is in northern states, but that didn’t stop Cindi of Ivory Home Design from going all out with the fall decor in Mississippi. From the front porch to the outdoor fireplace, Cindi embraces the textures and colors of the season including candles to set the mood.

In Tennessee, Bekah @bekahrussom didn’t let an unseasonably warm September spoil her love for all things fall. Her inviting front door is highlighted by two Wilcox Gooseneck Lights with 14″ shades, a Black finish, and beefy G19 gooseneck arms.

The colors are starting to show not only on the front porches of Texas but also in the gardens and in the trees. Our friend Jamie of @whitetailfarmhouse relished the changing colors this fall after a long year of recovery from Hurricane Harvey.

Jamie’s front porch features all the farmhouse feels from transom windows and black shutters to potted mums and deep bowl gooseneck lights. You can read more about Jamie’s home here.

And in the Texas Hill Country, Karin @madrone_hill_cottage extends a warm invitation to her off-grid solar cottage with colorful flowers, pumpkins, and a chalkboard welcome sign. Her Original™ Warehouse Gooseneck Light can handle the Texas heat no matter the season!
