Handcrafted Wall Sconce Adds Final Touch to New Construction

The last few weeks of any building project take on a frenetic pace. When Chuck and Jane built their new home in Fairview, North Carolina, last year, the process took longer than expected and, as the weeks wore on, Jane was anxious to get it all done so they could move in. Their gorgeous home was profiled on the blog late last fall here and here

In the flurry of last-minute details, Jane realized one exterior light didn’t get ordered (to the right of the sliding glass door above). With the building inspector’s visit looming and the Certificate of Occupancy hanging in the balance, Jane had the electrician install a builder-basic fixture in the space. But with her other wall sconces and gooseneck barn lights already installed, Jane wanted to complete the look of her exterior lighting with a complementary fixture.

She chose the Industrial Static Sconce in a Barn Red finish. Jane’s other exterior fixtures are also finished in Barn Red which matches the window and door trim on the home. Jane chose ribbed glass for this rustic wall sconce and the heavy duty cast guard.

The fixtures in our collection of Wall Sconces are easy to customize and include three guards to choose from — wire, standard and heavy duty — shown above. Seven glass options, including frosted, ribbed, a colored glass, can give your atomic wall sconce even more personality.

Chuck and Jane are thrilled that the final piece of their new home is now in place. The rugged, American-made sconce adds the perfect pop of color against the grey exterior and completes the modern farmhouse look the couple envisioned.

“The lights are so well made and such statement pieces that speak to a more traditional farmhouse from the past,” Jane says.  “We love the selection, the color options, and that everything is made in the USA!”
