Easy-to-Customize Lighting for New Guest House/Garage
As Dale searched for lighting for his new guest house/garage in Dallas, Pennsylvania, the most important element was the ability to customize each fixture to suit the installation location. An electrician and owner of Quality Electric of Northeast Pennsylvania, Dale discovered Barn Light Electric during a Google search.
“Our design was a classic-meets-modern-farmhouse style,” Dale says. “We built with bricks which are a classic material, and we wanted an industrial look for the lighting fixtures.”
The building serves as a garage with large doors on one side while the guest entrance features a charming covered patio and man door. For the garage doors, Dale chose the Aero Gooseneck Light which boasts the classic look of a barn light but with an updated feel thanks to its stacked neck design and sleek flared base.
Dale customized these handcrafted wall lights with 16″ shades, a powder coat Black finish and G64 chain-supported gooseneck arm. He also chose the heavy-duty cast guard and frosted glass.
“I chose these customizing options for the aesthetics. I like the look,” Dale notes.
For the front porch entryway, Dale opted for the Brisbane Chain Hung Pendant and some string lights for a festive vibe. He customized the American-made pendant light with a 16″ shade, powder coat Black finish, and standard black cord. He also selected frosted glass for this fixture to match the garage door lights.
“I didn’t want to see the bulbs on these fixtures,” Dale explains. “And the frosted glass softens the light.”
The man doors are also illuminated by Industrial Guard Sconces with a matching Black powder coat finish and frosted glass. These rugged fixtures sport heavy-duty cast guards and warehouse shades for a farmhouse look.
“We love the look of all the lights,” Dale says. “They are unique and beautiful.”
