Wooden-Top Pendants Add Final Touch to Transitional-Style Remodel
When Barn Light Electric launched the Timber and Ore Collection, we knew our customers would love the combination of warm woods and handspun metals. These timeless designs fit seamlessly with so many styles from farmhouse to boho to modern.
When James decided to remodel his kitchen and dining room, he created a transitional design with a black-and-white palette enhanced with walnut tones plus gold and brass accents. When searching for lighting for his kitchen island, James wanted an American-made pendant that he could easily customize. He discovered Barn Light’s Manhattan Wooden Top Pendant Light which comes with a variety of customizing options including finish color, wood, and cording choices.
James customized his new pendants with a Black powder coat finish, Walnut wood, and standard black cords. He also chose the Walnut wood ceiling canopy cover to add a bit of color and texture to the ceiling.
“The walnut wood matches our custom walnut table in the kitchen,” James notes, “and the black powder coat shade matches our black base cabinets perfectly.”
All of the fixtures in this unique collection of lights are handcrafted by our artisans and built to the customer’s specifications. A variety of wood species are available including Ash, Walnut, Oak, and Maple. While the Manhattan features a wooden top, other fixtures feature a wooden socket such as the Downtown Minimalist Pendant and Downtown Minimalist Wall Sconce.
The Timber & Ore Collection also features all-wood fixtures like the Ventura Pendant, Arcadia Pendant, and Lafayette Pendant. Each starts from a block of wood that is hand spun on a lathe to create the desired shape. As every piece of wood is unique with grain and color, these truly become one-of-a-kind fixtures.
“We felt the Manhattan Wooden Top Pendant fit our transitional design really well,” James says. “We love their appearance.”
