I have not adjusted to the time change apparently. I seem to forget, or perhaps I’m in denial, that it will be pitch black by the time I get home some days. I have yet to remember to turn on the outdoor lights when I leave.

The school bell has rung, theme parks are quiet, and the Labor Day picnic is a fading memory. The autumnal equinox must be right around the corner. Fall is a great time to think about your exterior lighting. Nightfall may come earlier but the weather is still great for outdoor activities and meals. There’s no reason to retreat to the dining room when the back porch is still so inviting. Plus there are still fireflies out there waiting to be chased!

Steve and his wife Debbie knew they had found something special when they were interviewing potential contractors to build their new home.
“One of them stood on the site and said, ‘I’ve been driving by this field for 20 years and always wanted to build a house right here,'” Steve relates. The coveted spot in Freeport, Maine, is close to downtown and is the site of their now almost-complete modern farmhouse home. The building process is fraught with constant decision making, but for Steve and Debbie, the choice for lighting was an easy one.
