When Lisa purchased a small, older home on Cape Cod, she hoped to simply expand the space to suit her needs. But, on the advice of her builder, Lisa started from scratch and rebuilt.
“Since the house is on the Cape, I definitely wanted it to be beachy and casual,” Lisa says. “I wanted an all-white palette with pops of color coming out in the lighting and accessories.” The new, open floor plan includes a kitchen space that is the hub of activity. Although she initially chose some chrome-and-glass pendants for the island, Lisa started seeing barn lighting on Houzz and was intrigued. She dug into the Barn Light Electric website and, upon finding our porcelain enamel collection, knew it was exactly what she was looking for.

When you find something you like, the tendency is to keep coming back. To a favorite hiking trail, a favorite restaurant, or to your favorite industrial lighting fixture. Such is the case with The Hummus & Pita Company, a New York-based eatery that just opened its newest location on Times Square. Owner David Pesso, along with his mom Janice and brother Steve, chose both ceiling pendants and wall lighting from Barn Light Electric to help set the mood in each of their restaurants. They have created a warm and comfortable atmosphere where the only ethnic part of the restaurant is the food.

It’s been a wild and wacky winter so far and, technically, it’s not even winter yet! In some parts of the southeast, there was snow on November 1st yet temps reached into the 70s on December 1st. You never know what winter may bring unless you live in Woodstock, Vermont, like our friend Sophia, where you are pretty much guaranteed to have your fair share of snow and ice this time of year.
