I’m a little behind the 8-ball when it comes to classic television. As much as I enjoy curling up on the couch with a bag of popcorn for a night of per-recorded fun, I’m about a decade behind the band of buddies on Friends. I started the first season this week and was surprised about how much I recognized the show’s creative set design. In case you’re like me, pre-Friends, the show originates in the mid-90s and revolves around the lives of six friends. It’s wacky, endearing, and quite colorful.

While summer is all about grilling, fall is all about baking. The onset of the extended holiday season means the kitchen gets a workout with flour-coated counters, mounds of chocolate chips, and spicy scents wafting through the whole house. For many, baking a batch of pumpkin bread or snickerdoodles brings back cherished memories of spending time in the kitchen with mom or grandma. I love throwing a party with nothing but hors d’oeuvres and desserts because, quite frankly, those are my favs. It’s like opening your own tapas place where guests sample little bites of this and that and since they don’t fill up on a heavy meal, there’s plenty of room for dessert!
