Chain Hung Pendant Lights Add Perfect Ingredient to New Bakery
What’s the best news to come out of 2021 thus far? How about news of a bakery that’s open 24/7.
Yep, that’s right — fresh baked goods available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Breka Bakery is a family-owned chain with five locations and a central kitchen. Their latest location, located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, was designed by Ruth M’Rav-Jankelowitz, principal and founder of Janks Design Group.
“The space used to be a Dairy Queen,” Ruth says. “The concept was rustic chic with an eclectic flair. The materials were selected to reflect the product offered — the finest ingredients — and to create an inviting, fresh, and warm feel.”
When choosing lighting for the renovated space, Ruth searched for a reputable company with lights that were UL or CSA approved and readily available in a variety of colors and mountings. That search led her to Barn Light Electric where she found rustic industrial pendants to highlight the front service counter.
The Wilcox Deep Bowl Chain Hung Pendant Lights offer a bold statement in the space. Ruth customized these pendants with generous 20″ shades, a Black powder coat finish, and standard Black cords.
“It is the perfect shape and volume to define the space and blend into the concept without overpowering it,” Ruth explains. The Wilcox Chain Hung Pendant is offered in six shade sizes and more than three dozen finish colors plus five natural metal finishes. Other customizing options include an acrylic diffuser, wire cage, or cast guard and glass for additional industrial appeal.
Ruth has been specializing in commercial projects since 2004 when she created her firm. She lends her talented hand to retail, medical, and hospitality venues but specializes in creating the perfect atmosphere for food and beverage businesses like Breka Bakery.
“The lighting complements the overall design concept,” Ruth says. “They achieve what we were after — lights that are easy to maintain, timeless, and the perfect finishing touch to our overall look.”
