Kitchen Lights That Blend Rustic & Modern Styles
Many people scour the internet, yard sales, and antique stores looking for vintage barn lights. In a northwest suburb of Chicago, Lori searched for three vintage kitchen lights for her remodeling project but came up empty.
“We did a down-to-the-studs remodel of our kitchen,” Lori says. “I searched for reclaimed barn lights but couldn’t find three that matched well enough.” Lori used an eclectic mix of styles in the space including reclaimed barn boards for her peninsula, clean, shaker-style cabinets, and a sleek waterfall counter top.
“I wanted something rustic but striking for the kitchen lights,” she adds. Lori’s designer from Prestige Kitchen & Bath in Arlington Heights recommended Barn Light Electric as a source for vintage-inspired lighting. Lori found our collection of classic Barn Pendants and honed in on the perfect fixture for her renovated kitchen.
“I wanted something rustic but also something that fit in with the eclectic mix I was going for,” Lori explains. She chose the Esso Pendant Light to highlight her new peninsula and provide needed task lighting. She customized these American-made kitchen lights with compact 8″ shades, a Textured Black finish, and Black Cotton Twist cords.
“The cotton twist cord really sold me on the Esso Pendants,” she notes. “The shade was the perfect size, I could customize it to my liking, and the finish chips I received really helped me to finalize my decision.”
This handspun warehouse shade comes in two sizes and 20 powder coat finish colors. The Esso also comes in a stem mount pendant, a gooseneck light, and handspun from solid copper for an elegant look. All are handcrafted right here in the USA.
“I did want products made in the US. And most of the materials in the kitchen are American made,” Lori says. “I wanted something functional but that looked great. These pendants provide perfect task lighting and fit in perfectly with the rest of the kitchen!”
