Galvanized Warehouse Pendants Lend Industrial Style to Commercial Lighting
On a recent visit to the funky coastal town of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, we stopped in for a fried grouper sandwich at Creek Ratz, a very laid-back restaurant with awesome views of the inlet and all its wildlife. You can read about the treasure of gooseneck lights we found on the back patio in last week’s blog, but today we venture inside where the ambiance takes a definite industrial turn with the galvanized warehouse pendants over the bar.
These lights look very much like our 17″ Barn Light Warehouse Pendant, a classic light with roots in the industrial style lighting of the 1930s and 40s. This type of light was commonly found not only on farms but in the warehouses and factories of the day where plenty of downward directed light was needed for the work at hand. This deep shade offers plenty of light and can handle up to a 150 watt bulb making it perfect for commercial lighting needs such as this.
You can customize this warehouse pendant with one of 20 durable powdercoat finish colors ranging from traditional shades of Black or Galvanized to bolder colors like Red, Rust, or Canal Green. Choose a cord hung mounting for interior locations such as this bar area or go with a stem mount if you plan to install your pendants in damp conditions such as a porch. The addition of the red wire cage on these lights plays up the red accents found throughout the restaurant and add a vintage touch to the pendants. The addition of a wire cage or a cast guard and glass can protect your bulb in high traffic areas like restaurants, museums, and retail stores plus it adds another shot of character to an already-classic fixture. The cast guard and glass can be customized with glass and color options as well.
