Featured Customer | Porcelain Pendants for Swine Dining in the Southwest
Hmm, let’s see… what goes well with recycled wooden ammunition boxes? Porcelain barn lights of course! These 1950s-era ammo boxes played a starring role in the remodel of an existing space that has become the popular Brat Haüs Restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona. Leading the design charge was Featured Customer and owner Dave Andrea and designer Kimberly Harris from Studio K in Phoenix.
“Brat Haüs is an urban European beer garden,” explains Dave, “specializing in artisan sausage, craft beer, and Belgian fries.” The structure was originally built in the 50s so the wooden boxes were a perfect fit to redesign the walls of the restaurant. When it came to lighting, Dave wanted something to fit with the look.
“Our designer Kim recommended Barn Light Electric,” Dave says, adding that “I wanted something to make a statement since it can be seen from the street.” Dave and Kim decided on the Ivanhoe® Sinclair Industrial Porcelain Pendant in a White finish with a black cotton twist cord and a nickel socket.
“Once we had the walls up, we knew we’d found the perfect match with the Sinclair pendants,” Dave says. “It provides the light we need and feels right at home with the design. They look great!”
The Sinclair is a terrific choice for commercial lighting needs such as this restaurant thanks to the variety of finish options that help create truly unique lighting for any setting. The American made Sinclair comes in four shade sizes and nine shiny porcelain enamel finish colors. Like all of our porcelain enamel lights, the Sinclair is made-to-order, hand spun by our own craftsmen from commercial grade steel to give you the utmost in quality. This finish will never fade, is easy to maintain, and will last longer than the beer and brats!
