Pro Hunter Eva Shockey Bags American-Made Lights for New Farmhouse
Eva Shockey’s list of happy places likely includes a tree stand tucked in the woods or a quiet meadow filled with the bugling of elk. The avid hunter, author, TV and social media star is also quite happy settled into the new farmhouse she and husband Tim share with their two children in North Carolina.
“Construction officially began about three years ago,” Eva says. “Whew! It’s been a long time coming!” The 5,500-square-foot home exudes farmhouse style with its crisp white facade, black windows, and warm wood accents.
“I was definitely going for a balance of farmhouse chic with modern Southern,” she explains. “I know trends fade, and I’ve tried really hard to strike a fresh, authentic balance in our home’s design.” The design flows from the house to the attached garage which serves as storage for the couple’s vehicles, hunting gear, and other items.
When searching for the perfect exterior lights for the garage, Eva pored over the Barn Light Electric website imagining how each fixture would look on her new home. She chose the Bomber LED Gooseneck Light as the perfect fit for the garage. She customized these outdoor wall lights with 17″ shades, a porcelain enamel Black finish, and G64 chain-supported gooseneck arms.
“American-made lighting is a huge plus,” Eva notes. “But being able to customize the lights was the main thing, and Barn Light delivered in a big way!” The couple chose a 1250 lumen LED with a 3500 neutral white temperature. The integrated LED module in the fixture provides approximately 50,000 hours of service which provides substantial cost savings in energy and maintenance.
“I hate harsh lighting so the cool, neutral illumination is perfect for us,” she explains. “I get compliments on them constantly, and since they’re so large, they provide amazing light in the evenings.”
The Bomber is one of Barn Light’s most popular shades with roots in the vintage RLM styles of the mid-20th century. It can be customized in dozens of ways with a variety of finish colors, mountings, and other options to choose from. Handspun from commercial grade metals, the Bomber is an American-made fixture built to last.
“I couldn’t have dreamed up this shade by myself!” Eva says. “It throws off the perfect light. We love our Barn Light fixtures!”
