Deep Bowl Pendants Add Striking Focal Point To Kitchen
When Daniele and her husband took their kitchen down to the studs for a complete remodel, their wish list for the new space was pretty straightforward.
“I really wanted clean, crisp, and simple,” Daniele says. “I knew I wanted a white kitchen because I love how white looks and feels, but I wanted a pop of color too.” She also needed materials that would endure a busy family.
“With three kids and a husband who can be messy when he cooks, I wanted materials that are strong, durable, and easily cleaned,” she adds. The couple chose wood cabinets with a scratch-proof laminate finish and quartzite countertops that don’t stain or etch.
In her search for lighting, Danielle knew exactly what she wanted — a deep bowl pendant in Navy Blue.
“I was looking for a very specific style of light,” she notes. “I stumbled across Barn Light Electric and, after reading about how the lights are handcrafted in America, I knew I was purchasing my lights from this company.” Daniele ordered finish samples to confirm her color choice and was delighted to discover the array of customizing options offered.
She ordered two Loma Stem Mount Pendant Lights for her new kitchen. She customized these deep bowl pendants with 12″ shades, a Navy Blue finish, and white stems.
“The Loma was the exact shape I had been searching for, not too narrow or shallow, but like an upside-down bowl,” she says. “I ultimately chose the stem mount because it seems to fit best with the style of my kitchen and gives it a more formal look.” The Loma comes in five shade sizes ranging from 12″ to 36″ and a variety of mountings.
“With so much white in the kitchen, the Navy finish was a must as I wanted the pendants to be a focal point for the space,” Daniele explains. “And by having white stems, the attention is drawn to the bowls of the pendants with the stems blending into the background.”
Daniele admits to spending “a lot of time” on the Houzz app looking for inspiration and ideas for their kitchen. Now that the dust has settled, she is thrilled with the results and, especially, her new lighting.
“I love everything about them! They are so well made and feel durable,” Daniele says. “They are easy to wipe down when they get dusty and they light the space beautifully!”
