For those living in rural areas, the majority of your time is spent outdoors. On occasion, that includes getting dirty, muddy, and sometimes just plain filthy. Rubber boots, like the pairs seen in the photo, are the shoe of choice and entryways become a catch all for the mud and the muck. It’s not so much the process of putting things in to the washer and dryer, it’s more of the hassle that comes with folding, hanging or worse…ironing! The chore might even get worse if you have to lug it all up and down the stairs into a dark, dungeon-like laundry room. You might as well try to make it fun to lessen the dread, right?

Today’s featured customer definitely got it right when reconfiguring her laundry room and pantry. We’re not quite sure how it looked before, but the end result is fantastic! She clearly has an eye for great Southern design – after all, it kind of looks like a snapshot straight from Southern Living Magazine. The homeowner, Lauren, is an interior designer based out of Jacksonville, Florida, just a short two hour drive North of us. Most would expect the home of an interior designer to be filled with opulence and the latest design trends – that’s not always the case in Lauren’s designs.
