Vintage Belt-Driven Ceiling Fan Puts New Spin on High Style

Some home decor pieces just make you stop and say, “Wow!” when you enter a room. That’s the reaction most people have when they see a vintage, belt-driven fan up close for the first time. These ceiling fans first appeared in the United States in the mid to late 1800s and were powered not by an electric motor but rather running water used in conjunction with a turbine to drive a system of belts to turn the two-blade units. Porcelain Pendants Drop In On Elegant Paris Restaurant

Black and white — the most basic of color schemes — can lend an air of simplicity, clean lines, and elegance. In this Parisian restaurant, the black-and-white palette scales new heights with the unexpected uses of texture and treatment. For example, instead of simply using solid color chairs, the seats are painted randomly — black chairs with white accents, white chairs with black —  to add a playfulness to what could be a staid and boring space. Porcelain Goosenecks for a Restaurant’s Inspiring Mexican Mural

Businesses do many things to attract customers. Some try billowing balloons or large neon signs while others provide eye-catching landscaping or bright color schemes to entice people to slow down and take notice. One Mexican restaurant painted this elegant mural on the side of its building that gives passersby a hint of the flavor that lies behind these walls.
