Gooseneck Barn Lights for a Luxurious Gentleman’s Retreat

gooseneck_barn_lighting.jpg

While the words “man cave” conjure up images of neon signs, a 60″ plasma screen tv, and a keg in the corner, a gentleman’s retreat sounds much more genteel, elegant, yet still relaxing in a manly sort of way. This beautiful retreat was created by our friends at Cocoon Interior Design in Brevard, North Carolina, and is oozing with warmth, plenty of leather, and yes, gooseneck barn lighting. Really now, what other kind of lighting would be appropriate in this space? A chandelier? Perhaps a vibrant colored wall sconce? We think not.

Vintage Porcelain Lighting Sets Mood in Victorian Wine Cellar

vintage_cord_hung_porcelain_pendant.jpgSad as it may be, most homes don’t come with a wine cellar. Much less a wine cellar that oozes with warmth, style, and a moody vibe that lets you know as soon as you cross the threshold that this is a place to slow down, relax, and breathe —  just like a good wine. This gorgeous setting is part of a 126-year-old home located in Connecticut’s Pine Meadow Historic District. Porcelain Deep Bowl Pendants Lend Glamour to Belgium Hotel

Part of the appeal of the industrial style is its raw, unfinished feel. At the Hotel O in Leper, Belgium, they have taken the industrial style to new heights with a dark, moody interior highlighted by retro style lighting. The check-in desk, shown here on the left, is a simple, raw wood counter, and dark walls and dark floors throughout add to the introspective vibe of the space. Deep bowl pendants hang in both the lobby and the restaurant and offer their own kind of pensive style. These pendants are very similar to our Ivanhoe® Wilcox Deep Bowl Porcelain Pendant, part of our signature collection of Porcelain Barn Lighting.

Wall Sconce Lighting Adaptable for Residential, Commercial Uses

For thousands of years, wall sconces have been used to illuminate dark hallways, steep stairwells, and small rooms. Before the days of LEDs, sconces were simply flaming torches braced to the wall. Today, wall sconces are one of the most versatile light forms providing ambient, task, and accent lighting in countless styles, shapes, and colors. Wall sconces create visual interest in a room and can draw the eye to features such as artwork, furniture, or decorative plants. Sconces are often used in private homes but are just as functional in commercial lighting plans. Restaurants use sconces to light up walkways and stairs, while retail stores find sconces a great way to highlight their products with elegance and sophistication.
