In last Thursday’s blog, we took you 3,600 feet up into the Blue Ridge Mountains to the High Hampton Inn where rustic, shingle-style buildings are nestled against a backdrop of lush greenery, a sparkling lake, and the rolling greens of the golf course. Gardens abound throughout the 1,400-acre property and pathways meander along with no particular place to go. Visitors find numerous places to sit and ponder such wonders as the world’s largest fraser fir tree. Even after dark, you can stroll the grounds with ease thanks to miniature barn sconces that are placed low to the ground to softly illuminate the paths.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4647 will honor the sacrifices of many with their traditional Memorial Day parade and wind up back at the post to swap stories and welcome new friends. The celebration this year will be extra special as the post canteen (that’s the bar in military lingo) recently underwent a major transformation thanks to House Crashers Host Josh Temple, shown here, and his crew from the DIY Network. Barn Light Electric was proud to pitch in and help our fellow veterans by providing some updated lighting for their new space.

It was in the café and on the outside patio that we spotted some galvanized barn lights much like our Barn Light Warehouse Pendant with the stem mount option.

In fact, they embrace every hue and splash it all around to bring life to what once was a litter-strewn avenue of abandoned warehouses.
