American-Made Lighting Offers Quality, Customizing Options
What keeps a customer coming back to the same company time and time again? For Mary Ann, of Will County, Illinois, Barn Light Electric’s combination of American-made quality and the wide array of customizing options can’t be beat.
“The quality of the lights and the choices are exceptional with the design elements that we like,” Mary Ann says. “It appeals to our Americana spirit.” A long-time customer, Mary Ann first purchased barn lights for a pole barn she built back in 2010.
“Then when we rehabbed our cabin in the Canadian north woods, we put in green porcelain enamel goosenecks throughout the cabin, both interior and exterior,” she notes. When she started planning for her new home, Mary Ann knew where to turn for quality, American-made lighting.
“We built a true timber frame home. We wanted a mixture of wood and metal with a warm farm feel, not cutesy, but more refined,” she explains. In the kitchen, Mary Ann captured that refined look with two Wilcox Deep Bowl Pendant Lights over the island. These stunning lights are handspun from raw copper and feature 12″ shades.
Mary Ann chose the Raw Copper finish to pick up on other copper accents in the home including the ceiling fans and fireplace stack.
In the guest bathroom, Mary Ann chose an Aero Wall Sconce to brighten up this space. She customized this American-made wall light with a 12″ shade and a happy Yellow finish color.
“The guest bath doesn’t have any windows so I was looking for something with a pop of color,” Mary Ann says. The Aero is hand spun from commercial grade steel then coated with three layers of porcelain enamel glass. This hands-on process results in a high-gloss, easy-to-maintain finish.
For the master bathroom, three deep bowl gooseneck lights complement the natural lighting offered through the windows. These Wilcox Deep Bowl Gooseneck Lights sport 12″ shades, a Bronze finish, and G26 gooseneck arms.
“Our lights are situated rather high on the walls and we need a large enough circumference to light the space below,” Mary Ann notes. “The goosenecks extend out to the perfect spot and the bronze matches our plumbing fixtures.”
“We love that these fixtures are American made, easy to install, and accept higher wattage incandescent bulbs,” Mary Ann says. “Because I had used Barn Light Electric before, I already knew of the excellent customer service. Plus the porcelain enamel colors choices really appealed to us. We get great comments on our lights.”
Be sure to check back on Wednesday when we plan to take a peek at Mary Ann’s combination mud room/laundry room as well as the exterior of her new home!
